Key Verse:
“You are the God who sees me.”
Genesis 16:13 (NIV)

Devotional:
There’s a unique kind of pain in feeling overlooked.
When you show up, serve, care, give—and it seems like no one notices.
You wonder if what you’re doing even matters.
Or worse… if you matter.

Hagar knew that feeling.
Abandoned, used, and alone in the desert—until God found her.
And in the middle of her running and heartbreak, she gave Him this name:
El Roi — “the God who sees me.”

You may feel invisible to people.
But you are deeply seen by God.

He sees your unseen faithfulness.
He sees your quiet obedience.
He sees the effort no one claps for, the love you give when no one gives it back.

And not only does He see—you are not forgotten.
You are not replaceable.
And you are not invisible to the One who matters most.

Reflection & Prayer Prompt:

  • Where in your life have you felt overlooked or unseen lately?

  • How does knowing God sees you change how you view that situation?

  • What would it look like to live for His eyes, not theirs?

Faith in Action:
Journal: Write this truth in bold: “God sees me—right here, right now.”
Encourage the Overlooked: Text or call someone who may feel invisible and remind them they matter.
Shift the Focus: Instead of asking, “Do people see me?” ask, “Am I being faithful to God?”

Prayer:
God, sometimes I feel invisible. Like what I do doesn’t matter. But You are the God who sees. Thank You for being present when others aren’t. Thank You for valuing me—not for my performance, but because I’m Yours. Help me to keep showing up, knowing You’re watching with love. Amen.
