Key Verse:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
Devotional:
We all wear invisible labels.
Too much. Not enough. Messy. Broken. Failure.
Maybe someone spoke them over you…
Or maybe you’ve whispered them over yourself for years.
But none of those labels are the final word.
God already gave you a new name: redeemed, chosen, whole, beloved.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says if you are in Christ, you are a new creation.
Not just improved.
Not just patched up.
New.
Your past doesn’t get to name you.
Your mistakes don’t define you.
Your feelings don’t get the final say.
Only Jesus does.
And He says: You’re Mine. You’re new. You’re free.
Reflection & Prayer Prompt:
What false labels or identities have you been believing about yourself?
How would your thoughts, decisions, and relationships shift if you fully believed what God says about you?
What’s one step you can take today to walk in that identity?
Faith in Action:
Journal: Write a list of false labels you’ve carried. Cross them out, and next to each, write the truth of who you are in Christ.
Say It Out Loud: “I am not my past. I am a new creation in Christ.”
Scripture Focus: Memorize 2 Corinthians 5:17 this week—let it rewrite the soundtrack in your mind.
Prayer:
God, I’ve carried labels You never gave me. I’ve let my past define me more than Your Word. But today, I choose to believe You. Thank You for making me new. Help me walk in that identity—not just on good days, but every day. Amen.
