Devotional:
You’ve prayed.
You’ve waited.
You’ve done everything “right.”
And still—nothing.
No clarity.
No breakthrough.
Just silence.
It can feel like God is far away… or worse, like He’s not listening.
But the silence of God is not the absence of God.
Sometimes, the silence is space for trust to grow.
Sometimes, it’s a pause before a move you couldn’t have predicted.
And sometimes, it’s the deep work—when God is changing you more than your circumstances.
Exodus 14:14 was spoken to the Israelites as they stood in fear with the Red Sea ahead and Pharaoh’s army behind.
They didn’t hear a long explanation.
Just this:
“Be still. I will fight for you.”
God may not be loud right now, but He is active.
You are not abandoned.
You are not unheard.
You are held—even in the quiet.
Reflection & Prayer Prompt:
Where in your life does God feel silent right now?
How have you interpreted His silence—has it led you toward fear, or deeper faith?
What would it look like to be still and trust that He’s still working?
Faith in Action:
Journal: Write honestly: “God, here’s what I wish You’d say right now…” Then pause and listen.
Remember: Reflect on a time when God was silent—and later showed He’d been working all along.
Lean In: Read a Psalm out loud today, even if God feels distant. Keep the conversation going.
Prayer:
God, I miss hearing from You. I feel the silence, and it scares me. But I choose to believe You are still near, still working, and still speaking—even if I don’t hear it yet. Help me to trust You in the quiet, to be still, and to wait with hope. Amen.
