Key Verse:
“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
— Romans 12:18 (NIV)
Devotional:
Relationships are beautiful—but they’re also hard.
Even the people we love the most can hurt us. Disagreements happen. Expectations go unmet. Words get misunderstood.
And sometimes, the ones you thought would always be close begin to feel distant.
God never promised relationships would be easy. But He does call us to be peacemakers—not peacekeepers who avoid conflict, but peacemakers who pursue love, even when it costs something.
Romans 12:18 offers both challenge and comfort: “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace…”
That means you're called to do your part—not all the parts.
You can forgive, even if they don’t apologize.
You can speak truth with grace, even if it’s not received.
You can set boundaries with love, not guilt.
And you can pray for reconciliation, while trusting God with the outcome.
You’re not responsible for how others respond.
But you are responsible for showing up with a heart that reflects Jesus.
Reflection & Prayer Prompt:
Is there a relationship in your life that feels strained or fragile right now?
What “part” might God be asking you to own—an apology, a boundary, a prayer?
How would it feel to release the outcome to Him instead of trying to manage it?
Faith in Action:
Journal: Write the name of one person you’re struggling with. Then, ask God: “What do You want me to do, and what do You want me to release?”
Extend Grace: Do one small, unexpected act of kindness toward someone you’ve felt tension with—whether through prayer, a message, or simply softening your heart.
Reconnect: If it’s time, take the first step toward healing. If it’s not, ask God to guard your heart and guide your posture.
Prayer:
God, You know the relationships that weigh on my heart. You see the hurt, the confusion, and the distance. Help me to be someone who brings peace—not by avoiding the hard things, but by inviting You into them. Show me when to speak, when to listen, when to let go, and when to lean in. Teach me to love like You. Amen.
